Reality star Kristin Cavallari's older brother, Michael Cavallari, has been found dead days after being reported missing.

She issued the following statement yesterday:

We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.

Michael had been missing for about two weeks. A 2014 Honda Civic registered in his was found abandoned in Grand County, Utah on November 27. According to the sheriff there, Michael was last seen on security cameras at a convenience store in Monticello, Utah.

Two days prior to that, he was released from jail after making bail. He was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff's Department (California) for making criminal threats with a shotgun on November 23.

According to the incident report, Michael was arrested after an unnamed female called the Sheriff's Department to report him, with whom she says she had a "verbal dispute" with on November 11. The report says the informant told deputies that, “she was in fear of him” following the incident.

The incident escalated when the female informant heard a tapping on her door and looked out the window to see Michael standing in the walkway between her apartment and the parking lot  “with a shotgun pressed to his shoulder and the barrel raised parallel to the ground, aiming down the path.”

Apparently, Michael has always been a bit troubled. A source closed to the Cavallari family previously told Entertainment Tonight that, "Michael has always been the troubled brother."

In case you were wondering, Kristin Cavallari became famous after her stint on MTV's The Hills and later married NFL star Jay Cutler, with whom they have three kids together. She actually just gave birth on November 23 (ironically enough) to their third child, daughter Saylor.
