Lafayette’s First Nashville Hot Chicken Restaurant to Open Soon

Blazin' Hot Chicken, which already has two restaurants in southwest Louisiana, will soon open a location in Lafayette.

The owners posted on Facebook recently about the new venture.

As you can see in the post, there aren't a whole lot of details mentioned regarding the new Lafayette restaurant, so we reached out to the owners.

Where will the new Lafayette restaurant be located?

While they weren't ready to spill the tea too much, they did tell us that the address for the new location will be at 1101 E University Avenue in Lafayette.

This is the intersection of University Avenue and Pinhook Road and it's a space located on the backside of the Food Mart Chevron gas station.

The space has been used as a restaurant in the past. (Our memories fail us as to exactly what it was last but for sure in 2022 it was called the Brown Skillet.)

Whatever it was in the past is now inconsequential, as Lafayette is finally getting a hot chicken joint.

When will Blazin' Hot Chicken open in Lafayette?

The owners were nice enough to give us a little bit of that scoop as well.

"We're aiming to open our doors in the next 45-60 days," ownership told us recently. And they added, "We're thrilled about our upcoming opening near the University of Louisiana."

What does Blazin' Hot Chicken serve?

First, simply put they're a "fast-casual chicken joint bringing Nashville Hot Chicken to Louisiana."

They feature their blazin' hot chicken in several dishes -- things like tenders, wraps, and sliders.

And they also serve up great sides like waffle fries, mac & cheese, and cole slaw.

Current locations

Blazin' Hot Chicken could be poised to make this a powerful Louisiana brand as they currently have two locations (both opened in 2023):

• 2211B Ryan St in Lake Charles
• 1920 E Houston River Rd in Westlake

The Lake Charles location stays open extra late. On Sunday through Wednesday it's open until 2:00 am, while Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the restaurant is open until 3:30 am.
