Do you know what a "keg stand" is? If you said it's like a beer booth where people sell draft beer at a festival you would be more than slightly wrong. A keg stand is a college fraternity staple. Granted it's not just the frats that do keg stands, sometimes it's sitting United States Senators that are included.

This past Saturday Senator Mary Landrieu was photographed assisting a gentleman with a keg stand at the LSU vs MS State football game tailgate party. There is certainly nothing wrong with the Senator helping a friend with a keg stand. It's certainly legal and the Senator was well within her rights to do what she did. However, in this day and age of let's look for the little things and ignore the issues, the keg stand has become hot political fodder.

Landrieu responded to criticism of her actions this way,

"The gentleman that did that is 28-years-old and he has also graduated, he has a Master's in business.  So I think he can make a decision for himself what he'd like to do."

Just to be clear, Senator Landrieu was offered the chance to do her own keg stand but declined. Landrieu's comments were reported by the Louisiana Radio Network.

Sources also say that Landrieu's chief opponent in the upcoming Senatorial election, Bill Cassidy, dropped by the same tailgate party. There is no word or photographic evidence as to whether Mr. Cassidy assisted, attempted, or participated in any pregame keg stand activity.
