Last night Powerball players in Louisiana waited patiently for the 10 p.m. drop of the ping pong balls in that multi-state lottery game. As you might imagine, anticipation for the drawing has been building since Monday's drawing in the game did not produce a jackpot winner. The top prize for Wednesday night was $1,191,900,000. That's just under $1.2 billion dollars.

Here's how that drawing unfolded in the Powerball game on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

The numbers drawn for last night were:

09   35   54   63   64   Powerball 01  Power Play x2

You can verify those numbers at the Powerball website or you can check your ticket at the Louisiana Lottery website as well. But, no matter where you check those numbers you're going to find that your ticket, in fact, no one's ticket, matched the numbers needed to claim the game's top prize.

Was There a Winner in Last Night's Powerball Drawing?

No, there was no "big" winner but there were some very big wins. The Powerball site confirms that just across the Sabine River in Texas there was a $2 million dollar winner and two $1 million dollar winners.

The big money wins in Texas were reported by the Texas Lottery to be Forney which is just east of Dallas and Lake Worth which is near Ft. Worth. Those two tickets are worth one million dollars this morning. The $2 million dollar winner was sold at an HEB Food Store in San Antonio.

Other big wins from around the country include $2 million dollar winners sold in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. There were several other one-million-dollar winners from last night's drawing too. Those winners were purchased in California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Louisiana Lottery Confirms Big Win in Powerball Game

Louisiana Lottery officials have also confirmed yet another $100,000 winner in Louisiana thanks to Powerball. This means the state's lottery players have scored big wins in the past three drawings and it looks like the part of the state known as Acadiana is the new hot spot for big-money wins.

Monday's drawing produced a $100,000 winner in St. Martin Parish. Saturday's drawing produced a $100,000 winner in Lafayette. And, last night's drawing produced yet another $100,000 win in Lafayette Parish, this time the point of purchase was in Scott, Louisiana. Do you recognize the store pictured below?

That is Nunu's Market on St Mary Steet in Scott and they sold a $100,000 winner for Wednesday's Powerball game. The winning ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. The ticket's purchaser also opted in on the Powerplay too.

There were no jackpot wins reported in the Louisiana Lottery's other Wednesday draw games, Easy 5 and Lotto. Those jackpots will continue to grow just as the Powerball jackpot will as well. By the way, the estimated top prize in Saturday's drawing will be $1.4 billion dollars.

While it's fun to dream of life-changing jackpots the reality is that most lottery tickets are not winners. So, do play responsibly.
