This was a pretty wild season for LSU football. We saw long-time Coach Les Miles fired, and Coach Orgeron stepping up to orchestrate some definite improvements for the Tigers. He did such a good job, he nabbed the job full-time. Details have just been released about Orgeron's compensation for his time spent as interim head coach, and it looks like it will be a nice nice Christmas around the Orgeron camp this year.

WBRZ.com reports that LSU has agreed to pay coach Ed Orgeron a lump sum of $675,000 for his time spent as interim head coach this season. Not bad huh?

It gets even better for Orgeron. You see, he was already making $600,000 before being named interim head coach. He'll still earn his normal salary, and get to put the extra $675,000 on top of that.

So, 2016 has shaped up to be a banner year financially for Orgeron, to the tune of $1,275,000.

Well done coach, and well deserved. You stepped into a hornet's nest of a situation and made it work. Excited to see where you take the team in the coming years.
