MacKenzie Bourg Moves on to Top 6 on ‘American Idol’

The Mack Pack gets to root for their boy one more week as MacKenzie Bourg made it to the top 6 of American Idol last night.

The Lafayette native had a roller coaster night of performances. There were two rounds of performances on the elimination show -- a duet then a solo performance.

His duet with rocker Dalton Rapattoni of the Backstreet Boys hit "I Want It That Way" did not get good reviews from the judges. However, he redeemed himself in the solo round as he put a nice modern sound to the Joe Cocker staple "You Are So Beautiful".

At the end of the night, two contestants were shown the door -- Lee Jean and Avalon Young.
