McDonald's Restaurants are honoring the number one request from their customers. The biggest restaurant chain in the world announced earlier this week that they have set a goal for 100% of their packaging to be renewable, recycled, or from certified sources by 2025. They say they are also instituting a preference for Forest Stewardship Council certification, which means that their products will come from forests that are responsibly managed.

Currently the company has about 50% of their packaging that is renewable, recycled or certified. They also plan to set up recycling in 100% of their locations, which is up from the current 10%. Their short term goal is to eliminate foam packaging by the end of this year, which is huge!

McDonald's really has been at the forefront of waste reduction and recycling initiatives for over 30 years, and clearly they are listening to their customers, when it comes to being more environmentally friendly. Thank you, McDonald's, we look forward to these awesome changes that will help Mother Earth!
