The votes have been tallied and Olde Tyme Grocery has placed second in USA Today's 10best online contest for Louisiana poboys.

The nomination list of 20 poboy spots was originally compiled by local foodies, according to the contest website.

“Lafayette’s Olde Tyme Grocery has been making top-notch poboys since 1982,” the website reads.

The site would go on to rave about the St. Mary Street legendary hot spot.

All the usual suspects are on the menu, and specialty options include the Olde Tyme Special with ham, turkey, roast beef and Swiss cheese, and the Two Meat Combo with ham, roast beef and Swiss. The shrimp po boy, overflowing with golden-fried morsels, is a favorite.

Parkway Bakery and Tavern in New Orleans took first place in the contest.

The other nominees for Best Po’ Boy in Louisiana included Crabby Jack’s in New Orleans, Herby-K’s in Shreveport, Katie’s Restaurant in New Orleans, Marilynn’s Place in Shreveport, Poor Boy Lloyd’s in Baton Rouge, Ray’s PeGe in West Monroe, SHUCKS! in Abbeville, Villager’s Café in Maurice, Walker’s Southern Style BBQ in New Orleans and Warehouse. No. 1 Restaurant in Monroe.
