It's that time again! Time for some competition, time for making some memories, and time to spend Friday Nights under the lights. My favorite time of the year because not only does football teach young athletes like myself how to win and lose, it teaches us about leadership, team work, and how to give your heart and soul to something.
It was another wild weekend in college football, with seven Top 25 teams, including three in the Top Ten, going down to defeat. Stanford remained in the national championship hunt with a triple overtime win, while Clemson and Kansas State are likely out of the title discussion as their undefeated seasons came to an end. Here are all the highlights from this week in the AP Top 25.
Surf’s up.
Hawaii became the first state to officially recognize surfing as a high school sport, which will take effect by the spring of 2013. Funding for the program will come from the private sector and the community.
“Surfing has been a really big part of my life and has taught me a lot of valuable lessons: what hard work and perseverance can do, time management and how to stay organized,” said Carissa Moore, 18, Association of Surfing Professionals women’s world champion.
Kids are often told by their parents to "watch what they put on the internet."
Well, this time the parent made an "oops!"
Professional wrestling is a funny business. Many talented and popular wrestlers never get the opportunity to carry a federation's banner as a world heavyweight champion. As a result, many hall-of-famers--current and future--miss out on holding the most prized possession in all of the game, a big gold belt that signifies he is, as Ric Flair would put it, "the man" in his company. So in honor of WWE Monday Night Raw coming to the Cajundome next week, I present to you my list of the top 10 pro wrestlers that never won a world heavyweight championship.
While many of this weekend’s games were just tune-ups for showdowns to come, there were several great battles to keep things exciting, including Michigan’s last-second win over Notre Dame, South Carolina’s shootout victory over Georgia and Auburn stuffing Mississippi State at the goal line to win their 17th straight game.

July 31, 2011 It's no secret that Kenny Chesney has a love of football, and now he gets to be a part of it every week. Singing, that is. Chesney will be heard on the new ESPN TV show "Rise Up" about revitalizing high school football programs across America. "Rise Up" will debut Sept 13 at 7pm on the ESPN TV Network.
When ESPN’s new series ‘Rise Up’ debuts in September, there will be a familiar voice singing the theme song.
