We all like to dream about it. The chances of it really happening aren't that great but boy would it be great if it happened. I am talking about taking home the top prize in Saturday's Powerball drawing. Right now the estimated total for Saturday's drawing is $298 million dollars and depending on how sales go over the next two days, that could be closer to $300 million.

In case you are wondering when Louisiana had its last big jackpot winner, it was May of 2013. I would say we are due for a big winner in the Bayou State. Lottery spokesperson Kimberly Chopin says Powerball players need to remember there is more than one way to win with your Powerball ticket.

"They don't realize, even if you don't match all 6 numbers you can win a lot of different prizes on Powerball. So check your tickets right after the drawing and remember it only takes one to win."

Chopin's comments were reported by the Louisiana Radio Network. She went on to say that the current Powerball jackpot has been building since November of last year. This could be a major payday for lucky ticket holder. However, the lottery folks are quick to remind you, that you can't win if you don't play. The drawing for this Powerball jackpot will be held Saturday night, just before 10pm local time.
