Remembering The Last Flood [Video]
In South Louisiana we do a lot of things really well. We do food well, we do festivals well, we dance better than most. One thing we don’t do well is drain. Draining is not our strong suit. The topography of our part the world is very flat which means water tends to sit before slowly draining away. Do you live in a flood zone?
In March of 2012 we were hit with a situation similar to today’s weather. A slow moving system dumped a lot of rain on the area in a short time, schools were closed and in the Carencro area the roads looked like this.
