Restaurant Staff Buys Winning Powerball Ticket…For the Wrong Day

Powerball fever is here and that is about all everyone is talking about. However, the staff at a restaurant in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey may just be done with all this lottery talk.

The staff at Grissini Italian restaurant there purchased Powerball tickets last Saturday for an office pool. This was the drawing where the jackpot was a meer $900 million.

The staff gathered around as one of the workers read off the winning numbers -- 2, 11, 47, 62, 63, 17 -- erupting into screams of joy when they realized they had a perfect ticket.

There was one problem though -- the numbers being read out loud were the winning numbers from Wednesday's $528 million drawing, for which no winning tickets were sold.

One poor employee even quit his job after realizing he was about to be a millionaire. (Hopefully the restaurant gave him his job back.)
