The New Orleans Saints began voluntary OTAs today (organized team activities), but not every member of the team participated.

Media in attendance got to see running back Adrian Peterson take handoffs from Drew Brees and catch balls out of the backfield. Peterson had plenty of reps as starting RB Mark Ingram sat out today with an unspecified injury. He was in attendance, watching from the sideline.

Joining Ingram on the sideline as spectators were starting wide receiver Willie Snead and starting fullback John Kuhn.

Defensive tackle Tyeler Davison, safety Erik Harris and rookie defensive tackle Devaroe Lawrence sat out. Davison and Harris both had offseason surgery to repair injuries.

Starting center Max Unger and tight end Josh Hill were absent. Unger recently had foot surgery while Hill recovers from multiple lower body injuries.

The two biggest surprises absences were starting defensive tackle Nick Fairley, fresh off  his four-year $28 million deal, who was not present during the media portion of practice, and wide receiver/return man Tommylee Lewis (pictured above).
