With 6 picks in the first 103 of the draft, including 3 in the third round, the Saints used their final one in the 3rd round to draft edge rushing defensive end Trey Hendrickson out of FAU.

New Orleans desperately needs to improve their pass rush. Can Hendrickson help?

During his collegiate career with the Owls, it seemed his only focus at times was rushing the passer.

According to PFF, playing against the run game was an afterthought, as he went all out to get to the quarterback.

He's also raw, needing more extensive coaching to reach his potential.

"There's nothing I love to do more than sack the quarterback," said Hendrickson in his first media conference call after being drafted.

In the short term, Hendrickson's role as a rookie will likely be in obvious pass rushing situations, as he's got tremendous burst off the line, helping him earn Conference USA defensive player of the year honors in 2016.
