Former child star, Shirley Temple Black has died, according to her agent. She was 85 years old.

According to a press release, she passed away Monday night surrounded by her family and caregivers.

Black is best remembered for her roles in numerous 1930s films including "Bright Eyes" and "Curly Top". After her entertainment career, she served as U.S. Ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia.

She is survived by her three children, a granddaughter and three great-granddaughters.
