$100 is worth $100 right? Actually, nope. We all know that $100 for a night out on the town in Lafayette goes a lot further than say $100 for a night out in New Orleans. So, compared to the rest of the country, what's $100 worth in Louisiana? Maybe more than you think!

Taxfoundation.org took a good look at a bunch of national data and determined that a hundred-dollar bill in Louisiana is worth more like $109.41 when compared to average costs of living nationwide. We placed somewhere in the middle of the pack nationally, with Mississippi beating us, with a relative value of $115.74!

Hawaii is on the wrong side of this study, because $100 falls to $85.32 in worth. Even in New York, $100 is worth $86.66.

This worst is Washington, D.C., where $100 is worth just $84.60. Shocking, isn't it? No wonder we can't get a balanced budget!
