A State Police Haz Mat team are working a suspicious package in Broussard. The package was discovered in an industrial complex mailbox on East Main Street in Broussard.

According to KATC, Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou says State Police are sending in a robot to properly identify what the package may contain.

Businesses near the package’s location have been evacuated. A nearby Church summer camp has also been evacuated and Sugar and Spice daycare is sheltered in place, however, some parents have already picked up their children.
