This week is shaping up to be a pretty decent one in the lives and careers of Alan Jackson and newcomer Jana Kramer. Both of their brand new albums hit stores last Tuesday, and now the charts are in. Jackson’s ‘Thirty Miles West’ knocked Carrie Underwood‘s ‘Blown Away’ out of the No. 1 slot, while Kramer’s self-titled project comes in at No. 5, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
There’s a song on Alan Jackson‘s ‘Thirty Miles West’ album that could be the title-track. Actually, ‘Nothin’ Fancy’ could be the title-track for his entire career. This isn’t the best song on the project — one gets lost in the long, sleepy melody — but it’s a message that speaks to why we love this country legend.
With his new studio album ‘Thirty Miles West,’ Alan Jackson returns to the forefront of country music. His label home may have changed since the release of his last project more than two years ago, but Jackson’s reputation for constructing quality country albums remains intact 15 albums into his iconic recording career.
