Actor Alec Baldwin has never been shy in expressing his opinions about politics, and yesterday he took to his Twitter account to slam country star Hank Williams, Jr. for his recent rants against President Obama, calling him a “broken-down, senile, racist coot.”
Despite President Obama’s constant referral to his Christian heritage, it seems as though Hank Williams, Jr. still questions the President’s personal religious beliefs. That mistrust was first spotlighted in the song ‘Keep the Change,’ a track from the singer’s latest album, ‘Old School, New Rules,’ and during an otherwise entertaining set at the Iowa State Fair on Aug. 17, the ‘All My Rowdy Friends’ singer once again used his entertainer status to voice his distaste for the leader of the United States.
With the bevy of country stars set to perform during tomorrow’s (June 6) 2012 CMT Music Awards live telecast, show producers seem rather excited about the performance from one of country music’s living legends, Hank Williams, Jr. The member of the country music’s royal family will take the stage to pay tribute to his father, Hank Williams, who was one of the most iconic artists in county music history.
Last week, the CMT Awards announced the beginnings of a performance lineup for the 2012 show. The original bill was already pretty stellar, as it includes big names like Carrie Underwood and Kenny Chesney on the roster. But the performance schedule got quite a bit sweeter when a few country icons and future country legends joined the ticket.
Justice is finally being served after the July 2010 theft of a $15,000 guitar owned by country legend Hank Williams Jr. Almost two years after the incident, an arrest has been made in the case.
It was a nice run for Hank Williams, Jr. He blew it earlier this year and we all know since then the Monday Night Football openers have, well, STUNK!
