Carencro Fire Update

Fire crews from Lafayette, Scott, Duson and Judice joined forces with the Carencro Fire Department to extinguish a Thanksgiving Day fire that reduced a local business workshop to ashes. The blaze which began around 9am Thursday destroyed a workshop that was operated by All Wood Furniture.

The owner of the business, David Duhon, told reporters he was most grateful that no employees were inside the facility when the blaze broke out. The building at Veterans Drive and Michaud Boulevard in Carencro was used as an assembly and construction shop for the two retail outlets of the store.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. Duhon said that store's two locations will remain open despite the loss of the workshop.
