How do you ask a girl to be your date for the prom? A lot of young men are asking that very question at this time of year. When I was a kid we called the girls' house and prayed that her father didn't answer.This was before cell phones so we had to take that risk. When she came to the phone we stammered a few sentences and then asked if she wanted to go to the prom with us. Very boring, very bland, it was how things were done.
