In honor of Independence Day, our friends at About.com have put together a list of the best patriotic country songs ever released. They are in no particular order, but I'm feeling so proud to be an American today that I wanted to share them with you. Enjoy, and God Bless America!

  • 'Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue' - Toby Keith
  • 'If You're Reading This' - Tim McGraw
  • 'Arlington' - Trace Adkins
  • '8th of November' - Big & Rich
  • 'Fightin' Side of Me' - Merle Haggard
  • 'Only in America' - Brooks & Dunn
  • 'God Bless the USA' - Lee Greenwood
  • 'The Ballad of Ira Hayes' - Johnny Cash
  • 'Some Gave All' - Billy Ray Cyrus
  • 'Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning' - Alan Jackson

And I'm going to add 2 of my personal favorites - 'The Snow White Rows of Arlington' by Sammy Kershaw, and 'Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Flies' by Aaron Tippin.

Billy Ray Cyrus got his first record deal with his patriotic song, and it remains one of the truly beautiful tributes to our American military to this day. Watch it below.
