Louisiana is always showing up on Reader's Polls, or the 'Best Of' lists, and we are happy to have the attention of the nation - we know we are in the most awesome state in the USA! Our friends at USA Today and 10Best.com are running a readers poll on the 'Best Historic Home Tour', and 2 of our beautiful plantations are in the running!

Oak Alley Plantation in Vacherie and Houmas House Plantation and Gardens in Darrow are both well deserved nominees. You can vote once a day through December 21.

Oak Alley, built in 1839, is one of the most photographed locations in Louisiana, and this year will celebrate the 40th annual 'Christmas Bonfire Party.' It is also a rumored location for filming the classic movie 'Gone With the Wind' in 1939, and was also featured in the movie 'Interview with the Vampire'.

Houmas House, known as the 'Crown Jewel of Louisiana's River Road', and is the location for filming the classic Bette Davis horror film 'Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte'.

The nominees were handpicked by local experts around the country, and you can view the updated leader board here. Let's show some love for our beautiful Louisiana locations, ya'll!!
