Reports and video are now surfacing of multiple explosions at the Dow Chemical plant in Plaquemine, Louisiana.

Dow Chemical Plant Explosion in Louisiana

Multiple explosions have been reported at the Dow Chemical plant in Plaquemine, Louisiana.

According to brproud.com, no injuries or damage to the plant have been reported at this time.

At almost 10 pm on Friday, July 14, 2023, Dow Louisiana Operations posted on Facebook -

"We currently have a fire at our Dow Plaquemine facility. The event is being managed by our Emergency Operations Center and we are in contact with officials.

All people are accounted for. As we assess this event and know more we will post updates on this page."

After seeing video of the Dow plant explosion, thankfully and remarkably, no injuries have been reported at this time.

According to BRProud.com "Iberville Parish Council Office of Emergency Preparedness has issued a half-mile shelter-in-place radius for residents near the plant."

Dow is currently monitoring air quality and so far not showing any readings for alarm to the public.
