Replay in Major League Baseball?
<Rowdy Friends
We do a lot of questions for the ladies. Here’s one for the guys — who like America’s pastime.
Earlier in the week, there was a terrible blown call in the New York Yankees – Cleveland Indians game. Left fielder Dewayne Wise leaped into the stands to catch a foul ball and came down in the stands. The umpire pumped his fist in the air crediting Wise with the catch.
The “catch” though is that a guy in the stands came up with the ball. The Yankee outfielder didn’t catch the ball.
Replay would’ve easily determined that it was not a catch and the batter would’ve still had a chance. The batter, Indians 3B Jack Hannahan, even got ejected later in the game for arguing with the umpire about the blown call.
Yep, it’s not the first time an umpire has made a terrible call. However, if we can fix it and it doesn’t take too long, why not do it?
Give us your thoughts.
