Okay, so we all know about my obsession with dogs. It's probably unhealthy how much I love them. However, I may be a little prejudice to mine. Here is my short story.

I was going through a really tough time in my life and felt pretty alone. I'm sure many of us have gone through this at some point. So instead of sinking into my feelings and feeling bad for myself, I decided to try something new. We had three dogs and one cat at my house already, but I really wanted a dog to call my own.

So I called up the local animal shelter and asked if I could stop by and see what babies they were holding. This is when I found my little girl, Lilly Grace. She was in a kennel with her two brothers. They were barking and crying at me while she was sitting quietly in the back just keeping to herself. I knew then that I had to take her home.

Little did I know, she kept all of her energy and craziness bottled up. She is a terrier mix so that should have been some kind of indication. This little girl is my best friend and carried me through my rough patch with love and laughter. I never fully understood the connection between a dog and their owner until I rescued my little Lilly Grace. She drives me nuts, but I wouldn't change my decision for the world. She can't stand to have her eyes off of me, hates taking a bath, and swears she is a human.
