A vehicle crash involving two 18 Wheelers has been causing traffic problems since it happened at 8:24 a.m. on Monday.

The crash originally caused both lanes Eastbound near mile marker 92 to be closed. Since then, Rayne Police Dept. Captain Tony Olinger says one lane has been opened.

Stations here at Townsquare Media are getting numerous calls that traffic is backed up for miles around the exit. That's also due to another accident which has been making the eastbound drive between Crowley and Scott a very slow one.

Crews are working to clear the crash and hope to have both lanes opened by dark tonight.

Fortunately, there were no injuries in the crash.

State Police are asking that drivers take Exit 78 the Rayne exit as their detour.
