Summertime is in full swing, and that means people are hitting pools and beaches. As much fun as spending time in the water can be, it can turn dangerous at the drop of a hat. In Grand Isle, two drownings have already been reported, and in only a three day span.

One victim, Diogenes Zuniga had rushed into the water to help his 9-year-old son who was reportedly struggling in the waves. He apparently reached his son, handed him off to a woman on the beach, but then was pulled under and didn't surface again.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner's office say Zuniga's body was found just before 8 a.m. this morning, according to WWL-TV.

This past Sunday, a 53-year-old Mississippi woman drowned.
