A mandatory evacuation has been ordered for Grand Isle ahead of Tropical Storm Laura and Tropical Storm Marco.

33-year-old Terrell Miller was pronounced dead on Sunday at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero from complications associated with drowning.

Storm surge and heavy rain filled the streets with water in Grand Isle on Sunday as Tropical Storm Cristobal was making its Louisiana landfall.

The drowning incident happened around 7 p.m. on Friday, June 5 after being caught in an undertow while swimming.

Two people were taken to hospitals following the incident that happened on Grand Isle late Sunday afternoon.

The missing man went into the water to assist his son to shore and was not seen again.
