2020 Louisiana Cotton Festival Canceled Due to COVID Concerns
The board of the Louisiana Cotton Festival has decided, like many other fair and festival boards, to pull the plug on the 2020 edition of their festival. The Louisiana Cotton Festival had been planned for October 20th through the 25th but concerns over the coronavirus pandemic have lead the board to make what had to be a very difficult decision.
The announcement was made via the festival's social media site and promised information on the 2021 festival would be coming soon.
The Louisiana Cotton Festival was started by World War II Veterans in 1953. The festival was created as a way to promote Ville Platte, Evangeline Parish, and the state's cotton farming industry.
