More than 23,000 of Louisiana Veterans are currently in danger of losing health care with their private doctors because apparently the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs isn't reimbursing physicians for their care.

If a Veteran is in need of mediate medical care, they are allowed to see a private physician. The doctors then bill the V.A. for a reimbursement. The major issue apparently is that the reimbursements are being outright denied, and the Veteran is being held responsible.

From WBRZ.com -

"The V.A. needs to get their act together," said the Secretary for the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, David LaCerte, "there's going to be problems with these things, but it's been going on for years."

Health care analysts say the reason for billing problems is because the V.A. uses outdated and inefficient data technology.
