Do you consider "The Nightmare Before Christmas" to be a Halloween movie or a Christmas movie? My thought is that it's perfect for each, but I do consider it to be more of a Halloween movie. It's been 20 years since the movie came out, and there still might be some things about this classic that you might not know.

Buzzfeed.com compiled a great list of "18 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About 'The Nightmare Before Christmas" and I'll hook you up with a few of them here. For the complete list of all 18, head over to Buzzfeed.com.

1) Disney originally was going to develop the idea as an animated short or a 30 minute TV special. Eventually, they shelved the project altogether because they thought it was too weird.

2) Jack Skellington first appeared for the first time in "Beetlejuice" in 1988. His head can be seen on the top of Beetlejuice’s carnival hat.

3) It took an entire week of shooting to create 60 seconds of film!

4) Patrick Stewart was hired as the film’s original narrator but was canned last minute for unknown reasons. He does, however, appear as the narrator on the film’s soundtrack.

5) Disney wanted to build a Nightmare Before Christmas ride at Disneyland, but reportedly Burton, who owns 50% of the rights to the characters didn't like the idea. How awesome would that be?!?!

Below is an unrealized concept by theme park designer Christopher Merritt.

6) Disney wanted to do a sequel to the movie, but Tim Burton didn't like that idea either. He reportedly told them “Some movies should just be left alone. I think it keeps their kind of spirit intact in a way.” I have to say I completely agree.

7) Jack Skellington has many cameos in other movies. He appears as a shadow in the "The Princess and the Frog", as a print on the Mad Hatters’ bow tie in "Alice in Wonderland", and inside of an egg in the movie "Coraline".
