The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries are both seeking information on the shooting of a bald eagle that was found near Cavett River Road in Gilliam, La located in Caddo Parish.

The $8,500 reward money has been put together by The Humane Society of the United States, The Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust, Louisiana's Operation Game Thief and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. They are all seeking infor leading to a conviction of the person or persons responsible for the shooting of this endangered species.

The eagle was found wounded with bullet wounds to it's chest and wing. The eagle was transported to the Louisiana State University Veterinary Hospital for treatment, but had to be put down as a result of the injuries.
