9 Teams From the Lafayette, Louisiana Area Still in Hunt for High School Football State Championships

The Louisiana High School football playoffs are through two rounds and there are several Acadiana area teams vying for state championship titles.

And a lot of those are familiar names.

Two Acadiana area teams are undefeated and the top seed in their respective divisions in St. Thomas More (Division II Select) and Vermilion Catholic (Division IV Select).

There are a total of 9 teams from the Acadiana area that will be playing this Friday, November 24 in the Quarterfinal Round of the Playoffs.

Thankfully, there really are no match-ups in this round of teams from Acadiana playing each other. (Unless you consider Jennings a part of our region.)

At any rate, here are the teams still in the hunt for state championships:

The semi-finals are scheduled for November 30 - December 1.

Those winners move on to the Ochsner LHSAA Prep Classic on December 7-9, 2023 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
