Who Is Aaron Lewis? From Staind to Country Music
The now 54-year-old Lewis is best known as the lead singer for the rock band Staind, which he co-founded in Massachusetts back in 1995. The band achieved massive commercial success throughout the late 1990s and 2000s with hits like "It's Been Awhile" and "Outside."

Lewis transitioned to a solo career in 2011, embracing his roots by pivoting to traditional country music. His debut solo EP Town Line spawned the hit "Country Boy." He followed up with rootsy, outlaw-country full-length efforts including The Road (2012), Sinner (2016), and Frayed at Both Ends (2022).
Known for his outspoken views, patriotic themes, and stripped-down acoustic performances, Lewis continues to balance his solo country touring alongside periodic reunions and new releases with Staind.
