
Paragon Casino Is Hosting a Professional Rodeo This Memorial Day Weekend, And a Country Concert Too
MARKSVILLE, La. - One time for the rodeo! (You sang that, didn't you?) Well, if you do in fact want to go to the rodeo, there is one taking place Memorial Day weekend at Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville.
Schedule and Location for the Paragon Stampede
The Paragon Stampede is taking place Saturday and Sunday, May 23 and 24 at the rodeo grounds located on Slim Lemoine Road across from the Paragon Casino garage. The event will take place from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Some of the best cowboys and cowgirls in the region will be competing for their share of $24,000 in cash prizes. The rodeo also promises great fun beyond the competition, with rodeo clowns, comedy, and interactive activities for all ages.
Paragon Stampede Rodeo Events and Featured Personalities
The Paragon Stampede will feature professional athletes competing in the following:
- Bull Riding
- Saddle Bronc Riding
- Bareback Riding
- Barrel Racing
- Steer Wrestling
- Tie-Down Roping
- Girls Breakaway Roping
- Team Roping

There will be appearances by noteworthy rodeo personalities, including announcer Andy Stewart (National Finals Rodeo/Vegas), pickup man Chris Shivers (two-time World Champion Bull Rider), and clown Josh “Porkchop” Garrick, known as “the biggest little man in pro rodeo” at 4 feet 11 inches.
Ticket Prices and How to Buy for the Paragon Stampede
Tickets for the Paragon Stampede are on sale now. Ticket options are:
- Advance Purchase: $25 adult and $12 kids (6–12) for a single day; $40 adult and $20 kids for both days
- Week-Of Purchase (May 16 – May 24): $30 adult and $15 kids for a single day; $50 adult / $25 kids for both days
- VIP Table: $1,000 per table (seats 8), including exclusive seating and 16 beverages
Tickets can be purchased online here or at the Rodeo Ticket Booth the day of the event.
Mark Chesnutt and Chris Cagle at the Mari Showroom May 23
In addition to the rodeo, there is a double-barreled country concert inside the Mari Showroom at Paragon Casino Resort that weekend. Mark Chesnutt and Chris Cagle are playing a show on Saturday, May 23, starting at 7:00 p.m.
