Acadiana Animal Aid, who has helped so many of our furry friends over the years, is now in need themselves. After two devastating hurricanes, Laura, and Delta, their pet shelters in Carencro received some pretty massive damage, and they are asking for the public's help in rebuilding.

During Hurricane Delta winds ripped the roof off a barn, the "Cat Cottage" was torn apart by flying tree limbs, and transport kennels were completely destroyed. Officials say the 18 kennels were an important part of their ongoing efforts, and were used to quarantine animals before they were moved to the main shelter on the property. An Animal Aid spokesperson told KLFY “Those kennels saved over 1,800 dogs in 2019 alone. Without them, our lifesaving efforts will be drastically reduced.”

In a Facebook post officials went on to say 'If you’ve spent time at AAA walking dogs, loading a transport, or picking up pups, you know how important our transport kennels are to our lifesaving efforts." Literally any amount of help would be appreciated, and monetary donations can be made using their secure link here. You can also sponsor an animal, or volunteer to help with any of their services. Check out the video of the damage below, and help out if you can, y'all.
