(KMDL-FM) Mega retailer Amazon has announced some important holiday shopping news for consumers in Louisiana and nationwide. The announcement specifically details major changes to the Amazon Return Policy as they pertain to holiday purchases.

Therefore, Amazon is extending the holiday return window. Any purchases made between November 1 and December 31 can be returned to Amazon if they are in the original packaging or in unused condition through January 31, 2026.

The timetable is a little different if you're returning an Apple-branded product. The window for returns on Apple items purchased between November 1 and December 31 is only open until January 15, 2026.

How Long Does It Take for an Amazon Refund to Show Up on Your Account?

You should know that, on average, it could take as long as 30 days for a refund on the returned item to hit your account. The return has to be accepted and approved by the 3rd party seller and Amazon, and once that hurdle has been cleared, your refund will be issued.

There are items purchased from Amazon that you may not return. Here is an almost complete list of those items. We say almost complete, because Amazon sells a lot of stuff, and there might be a particular widget or gadget that you won't find on this list, but still can't return for some reason none of us were aware of.
