49 Years of Guts & Glory – Angola Prison Rodeo

It's time for The Angola Rodeo, the longest running prison rodeo in the nation! Since 1965 thousands of folks from all over the USA head to Angola for great rodeo entertainment, and wonderful arts and crafts.
From Angola Prison Rodeo - 'What began 40 years ago as a "fun" thing by a handful of rodeo-loving inmates and employees is now big business. Proceeds from the Angola Prison Rodeo cover rodeo expenses and supplement the Louisiana State Penitentiary Inmate Welfare Fund which provides for inmate educational and recreational supplies.'

The objective of the Angola Prison Rodeo is to provide the prison population at Louisiana State Penitentiary with an opportunity for positive behavior changes!

This is a really really fun event for the whole family - great entertainment, food and arts and crafts! Tickets can be purchased online, or by calling (225) 655-2030, 2607 or 2008. If you just want to go to the arts and crafts area, you can purchase tickets at the gate.
