Apps to Help You Locate a Bathroom
When you gotta go, you gotta go. And anyone who has ever been to Mardi Gras, or a downtown festival knows how critical it is to find the restroom. Stat. Sometimes that's the first thing I look for, in case I get in a bind later on. And yes, I have my secret spots!
Everyday Health has rounded up five apps to help you find a bathroom when you really, really gotta go. This goes under the category of 'Why didn't I think of that?'. Brilliant.
- Sit or Squat - from the makers of Charmin toilet tissue. Available on Android devices and iPhones, iPads, and the iPod touch. Clean restrooms get a 'sit' rating, and ones that aren't so clean get a 'squat' rating. Free
- Where 2 Wee - also has ratings for cleanliness, using a commode icon. Available on Android and Apple devices. They also have an awesome Twitter page! Free
- Flush - Toilet finder and maps available on Android and iPhone devices. Includes over 200,000 bathrooms in their database, and whether or not they are handicap accessible. You can even search without an internet connection - yay! Free
- Bathroom Scout - contains turn by turn directions for over 1.3 million restrooms worldwide, including those in restaurants, and public locations. Available for Apple and Android devices.
- Fake Shower - this might be my favorite! So, after you've actually located a restroom from one of the above apps, now you can turn on the sound of a 'fake shower' to cover any embarrassing sounds emitting from your toilet stall. This is Completely awesome!! Available on Android and Apple devices, but the Android version is called Fake a Shower
