We've seen the COVID-19 numbers rise across the state over the past several weeks. The same can be said about positivity rates.

Across Acadiana, those positivity rates have been more than 5% for the last two weeks. That means that bars will have to close for indoor business under Governor John Bel Edwards' lastest emergency proclamation.

The state is now under modified Phase 2 restrictions that went into effect today. These restrictions call for bars in parishes that exceed 5% positivity for two consecutive weeks to cease serving customers indoors.

However, these establishments can open for outdoor consumption at tables only and at 25% capacity, with a maximum of 50 people. Social distancing is still required, and take-out and delivery are still available.

As of Wednesday, Nov. 25, here are the positivity rates for each Acadiana parish, according to the Louisiana Department of Health:

Acadia

  • Nov. 5 - Nov. 11: 10.70%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov. 18: 11.30%

Evangeline

  • Nov. 5 - Nov. 11: 11.70%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov. 18: 12.00%

Jeff Davis

  • Nov. 5 - Nov 11: 10.30%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov 18: 9.10%

Iberia

  • Nov. 5 - Nov 11: 11.30%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov 18: 8.70%

Lafayette

  • Nov. 5 - Nov. 11: 10.20%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov. 18: 11.80%

St. Landry

  • Nov. 5 - Nov. 11: 11.10%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov. 18: 11.90%

St. Martin

  • Nov. 5 - Nov. 11: 11.80%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov.18: 12.90%

St. Mary

  • Nov. 5 - Nov. 11: 8.60%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov. 18: 5.20%

Vermilion

  • Nov. 5 - Nov. 11: 7.50%
  • Nov. 12 - Nov. 18: 7.90%

According to the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, only six parishes in the entire state fall under the 5% positivity threshold.

Those parishes are:

  • Catahoula
  • Orleans
  • Plaquemines
  • St. Bernard
  • St. Charles
  • St. John the Baptist
