If this is a problem, I'd bet that the University of Louisiana Administration and the Athletics Department would love to have this problem every year. To say U.L. has had a good year  is an understatement.

The football team has won the conference. The basketball team has won the conference. The tennis team was invited to an NCAA Regional. The softball team is hosting an NCAA Regional. The baseball team has been #1 ranked or close to #1 ranked in the nation for the past month and they will most likely host an NCAA Regional. There is also that other reason that parents send their kids to our hometown university, academics.

This weekend academics, softball, and baseball will all share the spotlight. The problem is they will all be sharing the parking for that spotlight at the same time. Therefore the university has released a very good plan to help ease any issues with parking. This plan will be in effect for Saturday's commencement exercises and coinciding games.

Those who will be attending graduation at the Cajundome should park at Cajun Field directly across Cajundome Boulevard. That parking area will also extend around the stadium near Congress and down the other side.

Those who will be attending baseball are asked to park in gravel lot adjacent to Cajun Field. Let's be honest it's easier to walk in gravel in your sneakers than in dress shoes and high heels, so let's let the graduates have the pavement this time.

Those attending the NCAA Softball Regional at Lamson Park are asked to park at Blackham Coliseum. There is a short walk involved to get to the park along Cajundome Boulevard but the weather should be wonderful and make the walk a pleasant one.

On behalf of the University and from all of us here at 97.3 The Dawg, congratulations to this year's graduates. Good luck to our baseball and softball teams and thank you to the parents and fans that make our hometown university an amazing part of our community.
