Brian West Makes It Official: He’s Running For Lafayette Parish School Board District 9 Seat

Brian West has decided to put his name on the ballot in 2014 for the seat currently occupied by Rae Trahan.

According to his website, West made it official on Sunday that he will be running for Lafayette Parish School Board District 9. “I have a passion for helping and educating others," says West. "These likely come from my experiences with Higher Education and the Air National Guard. I know that I can nurture a cooperative and collaborative culture on the School Board.”

West serves as a full-time faculty member at UL-Lafayette and serves as a member of the Academy of Information Technology Board of Advisors at Carencro High School and as a religious education teacher at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milton.

West also spent 14 years in the Louisiana Air National Guard as a noncommissioned officer (NCO), leading dozens of airmen on teams throughout the world to complete mission essential jobs. He also served in Afghanistan. (To read much more about his various accomplishments, click HERE.)
