In efforts to make Lafayette Schools more competitive versus private and charter schools, the Lafayette Parish School System is launching an advertising campaign to target families of students who do not already attend Lafayette Parish Schools.

According to LPSS spokesperson Randy Bernard, the advertisements will appear as one-page inserts in the Sunday, July 19 editions of the Daily Advertiser and the Acadiana Advocate.

The ads will outline the unique advantages of Lafayette's Parish's public schools such as the 17 schools of choice offering multiple focused curricula including foreign language, performing arts and multiple science programs.

The district's Early College Academy, which ranked in Newswek's Top 500 High Schools, offers students the opportunity to earn an associate's degree before graduation.

Many of the Parish's schools of choice still have seats available. Parents interested in applying for vacant seats are invited to do so at www.lafayettechoice.com.
