The Louisiana chapter of the American Red Cross posted a photo of the emergency response vehicle they'll be using this Mardi Gras season in New Orleans.

In big, bold letters on the side of the unit: Generously donated by BRITNEY SPEARS

We've seen a lot about Britney Spears in the news lately, and it seems that she is going through a very rough period of her life, yet she still finds it in her heart to give back to her home state.

The emergency vehicle that the Princess of Pop donated is called an "emergency response vehicle" and, according to the Tweet from @nolaready, it will be put to good use along one of the parade routes in New Orleans.

The vehicle will be stationed on the corner of Napoleon and St. Charles in the Touro neighborhood, Uptown in New Orleans.

According to its Twitter page, NOLA Ready is the city's emergency preparedness campaign, and it is managed by the Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Preparedness.

Volunteers assigned to the vehicle will be able to help with minor injuries on-site assist anyone with anything related to first aid.

Spears is no stranger to supporting non-profit agencies and other causes. According to the Look to the Stars website, she has donated to many worth-while efforts:

  • Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes
  • Britney Spears Foundation
  • Dress for Success
  • Elevate Hope Foundation
  • Elton John AIDS Foundation
  • Janie's Fund

  • Luke Neuhedel Foundation
  • Music Rising
  • ONE DROP
