Bruce Mikells Pays Off Bet, Shares Stage With Dustin Sonnier [Must Watch]
What a great show last night at the Cajundome as Chris Young brought his Raised On Country tour along with guests Chris Janson and LOCASH.
All three acts brought it and put on one helluva concert for the good people of Acadiana. There was a memorable moment when a couple got engaged and Chris Young went into the stands to serenade the happy couple.
But, the real magic happened outside the Cajundome during the Coca Cola Concert Corner.
Part of those festivities included a set from local favorite Dustin Sonnier who played a slew of his signature tunes along with a handful of great covers. And it was one cover featuring one special guest in particular that brought the proverbial house down.
You see, a few days ago, Bruce and I laid a little bet on the table. We were chatting on-air about U.S. Women's Soccer star Carli Lloyd and how she kicked a 55-yard field goal at Philadelphia Eagles training camp. I uttered something like, "I could kick a field goal too," and a bet was born.
The wager was simple: If I could kick a 35-yard field goal, I win and Bruce had to sing a song of my choosing with Dustin before the Chris Young show. A Bruce win and I owed him a big ole bucket of Krispy Krunch Chicken.
One of these days my pal will get his chicken. It wasn't last night though.
Of course, I selected a tune by my all-time favorite artist, John Anderson. And at some point mid-set, the magic you see below happened on stage. Thanks to you guys for being a good sport and clapping and such.
P.S. If you'd like to book B&D (Bruce & Dustin, not Brooks & Dunn), contact your nearest psychiatrist because you need help bruh!
