Just last month, Buc-ee's released a comprehensive timeline for expansion of the massive travel centers into new markets. Both Louisiana locations were on that list. A recent article in the Shreveport Times confirmed that the Ruston location was on target for an opening date of April 2027.

What Is The Latest on When Buc-ee's Will Open in Lafayette, LA?

Many of you have inquired about the timeline for the Lafayette, Louisiana, location of Buc-ee's. That travel center will be built near the interchange of I-49 and I-10. Technically, the store will be off of I-10 at Louisiana Avenue. And the good news for Buc-ee's fans is that the store appears to be on target for opening sooner than originally forecast.

But based on information reported, that travel center could be ready for business just a few months after the Ruston store opens. Based on current published details, it looks as if a July 2027 opening is being planned for Lafayette.

Buc-ee's Delays Store Opening For A Full Year: Here's What May Be The Reason

Buc-ee's did announce that it's northern most location, a new store that is scheduled to be opened north of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, would have that opening delayed by about one year. The company did not offer a specific reason for the delay, but that decision to move back the opening has created a bit of chatter on the social media sites that follow Buc-ee's.

The question being raised was this: "Is the Wisconsin delay a sign of future delays in store openings?" Sources close to Buc-ee's planners have suggested off the record that one of the bigger hang-ups in building and opening so many new stores was not delays caused by weather, supply chain, or available construction crews. But store opening delays could be tied to Buc-ee's strict adherence to its own quality control.

It has been suggested that Buc-ee's will not open new locations without properly trained management and staff. The current rate of store openings around the country may have created a bit of a backlog in that department. A reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reached out to Buc-ee's officials for a comment on that policy, but as of this report, there has been none from Buc-ee's.
