It is one of the most beautiful runs through the streets of Lafayette. It is a benefit for U.L's track program. It is the Original Running Festival and you are invited to participate. The 34th Annual Cajun Cup is still taking entries for the event this Saturday November 8th.

If you've never done the Cajun Cup and you are a runner then you really need to enter and run this race. The course winds through some of the most beautiful streets in Lafayette. The course is 6.2 miles for those of you who don't do the metric system. There will also be a one mile fun run/walk event for those that don't want to cover the long distance but still want to enjoy some scenery and exercise and help out the cause.

If you enjoyed the trail run of the Insane Inflatable 5k this past weekend, you'll welcome the change of the Cajun Cup. While the Insane Inflatable 5k had challenges of a different kind, the Cajun Cup's longer distance will test your stamina and strength if you're a runner. If you're a jogger and not that serious about your personal time, it's still a great jaunt through town. Proceeds from the Cajun Cup will go to benefit the Track and Cross Country Programs at U.L.
