Another blow for the local business community as Cajun Market Meats in Youngsville made an announcement on social media earlier today that they would be closing by the end of the week.

According to their post on Facebook, they will shudder operations at their store located at 2810 Chemin Metairie Pkwy on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at 7:00 pm.

As you see in the post, it will be business as usual through Thursday. Customers can still go by and get their normal selection of specialty meats, heat-and-eat meals, and plate lunches.

Cajun Market Meats opened in 2017 and seemingly had loyal customers who loved their products.

So, why close?

Again, the Facebook post sheds a little light on this.

It reads in part: "We are making some changes. A potential return to Youngsville is in our plans."

One commenter on the Facebook group "Closed In Acadiana" stated that Cajun Market Meats "got bought out, land and building." He went on to say that he thinks "it's gonna be a Mexican restaurant built there." (Save your jokes for now.)

Whatever happens to the establishment, we are still sad to see Cajun Market Meats go. And we'll miss all of this for now.

If the business spawns up again in a new location, we surely wouldn't be mad. Either way, we wish the owners the best of luck in whatever their future holds.
