The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns swept a doubleheader Saturday from the Little Rock Trojans, winning the first game behind Gunner Leger, 9-4 before notching a come fro behind 7-4 win in the nightcap at Gary Hogan Field in Little Rock, AR.

The two wins were the sixth and seventh straight for the Cajuns, now 25-14-1 on the year and 12-4-1 in Sun Belt play.  Little Rock is now 14-26, 6-11 in the league.

GAME ONE--LOUISIANA 9, LITTLE ROCK 4

The Cajuns' offense continued to put up big numbers, pounding out twelve hits, five for extra bases in building an 8-0 lead through six innings.

Louisiana jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a two run homer by Steven Sensley, his sixth of the year and added a run in the fourth inning on a solo homer to the opposite field by Alex Pinero.  But it was the sixth inning that proved to be the undoing of Trojans' starter Ryan LeMoine (1-4) as the Cajuns took advantage of three hit batsmen and a pair of clutch hits to score five runs and put the game away.

Kennon Fontenot was hit by a pitch to open the frame and went to second on a single by Todd Lott.  Brenn Conrad was hit by a pitch to load the bases and Pinero was hit to force in a run.  After Handsome Monica hit into a force play, Ishmael Edwards doubled home a pair of runs and Brad Antchak singled in two more to give the Cajuns an 8-0 lead.

Meanwhile, Gunner Leger (8-1) breezed through the first six innings, giving up just an infield hit to Christian Reyes in the fifth, before running into trouble in the seventh.  Cameron Knight walked to lead off the inning and scored on a double by Nik Gifford.  Leger got the next two hitters, but gave up a run scoring single to Ty Gunter and an RBI double by Zach Baker before getting a groundout to end the inning.

Leger worked seven innings, allowing four hits and three runs, with two walks and seven strikeouts.  It marked the first time all season that Leger had given up three earned runs in a game.  Jevin Huval allowed two hits and one run in the final two innings, striking out three.

GAME TWO--LOUISIANA 7, LITTLE ROCK 4

Nick Lee survived a rocky first inning and then shut down the Trojans for five innings as the Cajun battled back fro a 4-0 deficit.

After the shaky first, Lee (5-3) allowed just two hits through the next five innings with two walks and six strikeouts.

"He kept punching, kept grinding," head coach Tony Robichaux said.  "He really had command of his changeup after the first inning and really kept them off balance."

But the Cajuns fought back with single runs in the second, third and fourth innings and then used Kennon Fontenot's second homer of the game to cap a four run fifth and give Louisiana the lead for good.

The Trojans got all of their runs in the first on an RBI groundout by GIfford, an RBI single by Cale Ridling and a two run double by Zach Baker. But the Cajuns wasted no time cutting into the deficit, getting an RBI from Pinero on a groundout, adding another run on a Joe Robbins single in the third and a solo homer by Fontenot in the fourth.

Hunter Kasuls started the fifth with a single off Little Rock ace Cory Malcolm (2-4).  Brad Antchak's double scored Kasuls to tie the game.  A two out walk to Sensley set the table for Fontenot, who crushed a 2-1 fastball for a no-doubter to left field, giving the Cajuns the lead for good.

Malcolm used a wipeout slider to notch a career high 13 strikeouts over 6.2 innings, but was charged with all seven runs on eight hits.

Wyatt Marks gave up one hit and one walk over the final three innings for his fifth save, striking out four.

The Cajuns will go for the series sweep Sunday afternoon at 1:00 pm.  The game can be heard on 96.5 KPEL-FM beginning at 12:30.
